Documents automatically filtered from search results
Summary: In certain circumstances, search results will be automatically filtered.

Cause: There are two possible situations that can arise where the search appliance filters certain documents that would otherwise be displayed:

• If multiple documents contain identical titles as well as the same text in their snippets, only the most relevant document of that set is displayed in the results.  In the results, this will show up as the following text: "In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the [N] already displayed."
• If there are many results in a single web directory, then only the two most relevant results for that directory are displayed.  When this happens the search results will show a link with the text "More results from [address]."

Workaround:  If you would like to turn off automatic filtering, there are a couple options:

• Provide a custom search page that sends a query with an additional URL parameter, filter=0.
• Modify the front end XSLT to always provide the appropriate filter parameter.
